Blockchain in general

While most of us got to know blockchain from its specifies implementations (first Bitcoin, then all the others), BC itself is a general technology and can be analyzed separately from any implementation. But most interesting BC related discussions are happening with the tight relation to one or another implementation / system, because this is what developers do. The following subsection tries to extract these general ideas from their implementation context.
